Printable Cooling Options for the X2

Good day everyone,

 

I would first like to say that this forum is amazing, there is so much information. You are all so helpful and respectable. 

My question is on the X2 upgrades, does anyone have any suggestions for the newer X2s? From my research I think it has a Bi metal heat break already but I think I could upgrade the fans/cooling system for the case and hotend. Does anyone have any cool STL cooling mods for the stock setup? Or any upgrade ideas at all, im open to everything so dont be shy to send all links

Hi @Ricklee0809,

What do you mean when you say upgrade cooling system ? You want Fan more quiet or more Powerfull ?

X2 dont have by default bi metal heat break, but you can buy the optionnal Full metal Head using an All metal heatbreak.

I you want a better air flow for material in this case is netter to choice a Fan turbo 5015, if you want to reduce noise in case and hot end replace the fan 8020 and the 4010 by fan more quiet but if you want use Noctua fan is necessary use buck converter because noctua are available only in 12v, but in this case the fan can't be use in PWM.

In your opinion is the cooling adequate for the X2 in terms of efficiency? I believe its already super quiet so I guess more in terms of a alternative case/fan duct? 

Thanks for the info on the heat break, I could of sworn I saw a video with someone taking apart the X2 latest version and it had a Bi metal Heat Break but I believe you. That said would you recommend any upgrades for the X2 that address issues I may have in the future? I have an steal PEI sheet for the bed already

If you don't use your X2 into a hermetic box (for ABS print exemple) the stock fan use into the X2 case is good and don't need to change it. Only for the 4020 you can le fan by an 5015 with new FanDuct (you can found fanduct for 5015 on thingiverse).

For Bi metal heatbreak in use only TriangleLab Heatbreak, for X1 and X2 is necessary to take a smooth version, but you can found another good brand on Aliexpres like Biqu or Mellow.
