Ils ont souvent des problèmes techniques pour générer les images UBUNTU : elles arrivent typiquement qqs jours plus tard.

Donc bien prendre la dernière version "Ubuntu" de la dernière version "Bambu Studio"

 

Si çà ne marche pas : 

  1. Vérifier que l'installation d'Ubuntu est à jour ("apt-get update && apt-get upgrade -y" + toute la partie "dist-upgrade" pour upgrade vers ubuntu 23-04)
  2. Eventuellement essayer l'image FEDORA (mais si çà marche, çà montrera sans doute que le problème vient de l'installation d'Ubuntu qui n'est pas à jour)

Notes

Sous ARCHLINUX "à jour", l'image FEDORA fonctionne. L'image UBUNTU est connue pour fonctionner sur des installs à jour. Au besoin vers le ticket https://github.com/bambulab/BambuStudio/issues/12 (qui n'a de l'activité que quand des utilisateurs ont un problème sur un linux donné)

Merci, mon frère a essayé sur une Ubuntu 22LTS installée fraichement sur un PC vierge et ça fonctionne. Son installation usuelle sur son PC de travail est en 22LTS, mais updatée depuis une 20LTS apparemment, et sur celle-ci, cela ne fonctionne pas... Il a donc un peu avancé, mais il continue de chercher... Mais plus je lui parle de ma X1C, et plus il est tenté. C'est le dernier verrou qu'il doit faire sauter pour se décider...

Etonnant, normalement après un upgrade complet, tu es censé être sur la même situation des dépendances ... (mais tout çà fait partie des raisons pour lesquelles je n'aime pas les distributions comme UBUNTU).

Pour ton frère tu peux lui proposer plusieurs pistes (je peux un peu aider sur ces pistes si c'est pas assez clair pour lui)  

1. De faire tourner Bambu Studio dans une image DOCKER UBUNTU "fresh" (il sera dans la même situation que sur son install "fresh" de la 22LTS sur une autre machine) - normalement çà marche bien et çà permet d'avoir, sans surcouts CPU, un environnement ultra stable / propre (à l'intérieur du container), et tournant toujours sur son hôte principal (le vieux UBUNTU migré de 20LTS et 22LTS - mais comme Bambu Studio tournera dans un container isolé avec nouvelle install, il ne devrait pas y avoir le pb) 

  • Installer le démon docker sur sa vieille installation UBUNTU 22LTS
  • Récupérer une image ubuntu 22 LTS et y installer un GUI (gnome, ...) + Bambu Studio (variante : il est aussi possible bien sûr de partir sur une FEDORA pour l'image docker plutôt qu'UBUNTU !)
  • Faire tourner cette image en montant la socket X11 de l'hote au sein du container (pour déporter le front-end de Bambu Studio de l'image docker vers l'hote = l'Ubuntu 22LTS

2. D'investiguer pourquoi çà plante côté AppImage, notamment, regarder quelles librairies sont "not found" quand l'AppImage démarre. Pour ce faire il suffit de

  • Démarrer l'AppImage BambuStudio avec le paramètre " --appimage-mount" (c'est un paramètre standard à toutes les AppImages)
  • Se déplacer dans le répertoire montré dans la log (dans un autre terminal), par ex. :

  • Dans ce répertoire /tmp/.mount_bambu<qq'chose>/ il y a un sous-répertoire "bin/"
  • Faire un ldd sur le binaire Bambu Studio, par ex. : "ldd bin/bambu-studio"
  • Ca va donner une grande liste de librairies utilisées par Bambu Studio (certaines sont "dans" l'AppImage, d'autres sont "au niveau du système", c'est vraisemblablement celles là qui posent problème, par ex., certaines sont peut être en "NOT FOUND" ou alors n'ont pas la bonne version

  • Si rien n'est en "NOT FOUND", alors faire la même manip sur la machine UBUNTU où tout fonctionne ... et comparer les deux listes de librairies (un coup de "sort" et de "diff" et çà devrait être facile de trouver le delta)
  • Dans les deux cas çà devrait permettre de trouver d'où vient le problème (librairie manquante = à installer, version différente = regarder les liens symboliques dans /usr/lib/, etc.

3. En remarque générale, arrêter d'utiliser UBUNTU et passer à une distribution beaucoup plus moderne / adéquate, notamment ARCHLINUX (qui, étant une "rolling release", a l'avantage de ne JAMAIS devoir avoir à subir une montée de version majeure genre UBUNTU 20 > 22), ou les dérivés d'ARCH comme MANJARO, ...

Nouvelle version du slicer en approche (1.8.0 BETA).

Pas de gros bouleversements, un peu à boire et à manger (de "l'ouverture" vers les autres imprimantes / filaments avec la capacité de les créer dans l'appli directement (pour les profils custom), nouveau mode d'organisation auto sur plaque, CUT amélioré, etc.)

A part peut-être quelque chose d'assez attendu (disponible depuis un moment sur PrusaSlicer) : un nouveau type de supports, le "tree organic", qui normalement fait gagner du filament et permet d'imprimer des choses + complexes.

Feature

1. Support creating custom filaments in Bambu Studio

In the past, Bambu Studio provided limited third-party filament presets, users had to use "Generic XXX" for those third-party filaments, which brought lots of trouble to AMS mapping. Now, you can set up your own custom filaments right in Bambu Studio. In this release, Bambu Studio provides a handy way to create custom filaments directly in Bambu Studio.

You can create/delete custom filaments or create a preset for existing filament from the "Edit Filament" page. Detailed instructions are available on our Wiki.

Also the custom filaments could be chosen on X1 and X1C printers, and start printing as system filaments. The functionality will be available after the firmware update to version 1.6.6 (public beta version, will come out soon)

2. Support creating custom third-party printers

Previously, when Bambu Studio did not support certain printers, or if users sought to enhance their printing quality by altering the printer nozzle, the requisite manual adjustment of printer profiles was cumbersome. To address this, we have introduced an automated function that facilitates the creation of necessary printer presets. This functionality can be accessed via the designated function entrance detailed below. Once created, the custom printer presets will be organized within the 'User Presets' category. Comprehensive guidance on utilizing this new feature is provided in our Wiki.

3. Supports exporting and importing printers' profiles, filament profiles, and process profiles.

You may share profiles with others by these way offline.

4. Support auto flush calculation function

In multi-color printing scenarios, it is not uncommon for users to overlook the computation of filament flush volumes, or to omit recalculations upon changing filament colors, resulting in print defects. To mitigate this issue, Bambu Studio now incorporates an automatic flush volume calculation feature. While you add a new filament or edit the color of filaments, flush volumes will recalculate automatically.

5. auto-arrange objects to the middle of the plate while switching the printer profile.

You may always be upset that the objects need to be arranged to plate manually while switching the printer profile. However, it will never bother you again. When the printer profile is changed, objects are automatically arranged onto the corresponding plates.

6. Add connector function.

The cut tool in Bambu Studio has been upgraded to offer new features, including the Snap connector and dovetail cutting, alongside improvements to the existing flat cutting capability. This enhancement includes code adapted from PrusaSlicer, and we acknowledge the efforts from PrusaSlicer and the contributors @YuSanka, @enricoturri1966

Improvement

  1. Support nozzle diameter detection and nozzle hardness detection

While the printer assignment is sent, Bambu Studio detects if the nozzle is qualified to print the filaments:
a. Check whether the diameter of the preset nozzle is the same as the diameter of the printer nozzle.
b. Check whether the hardness of the printer nozzle is suitable for the filaments used for printing.
This feature reduces the risk of nozzle clogging and ensures the nozzle's longevity by preventing excessive wear.
Note: The diameter and the hardness of the nozzle could be set on the printer's screen.

  1. Support device file management for P1P/P1S/A1 mini #2088 #2328 .

Bambu Studio now supports file browsing for P1/P1S/A1 mini. Please note that this feature relies on the printer firmware being upgraded to a new version(P1P/P1S v1.5 and A1 mini v1.2 to be released).
When this feature is enabled, you can browse and download timelapse video files on the printer through the studio, browse model slice files on the printer, and initiate printing; However, the downloading model function of these models on printers is still not supported.

  2. Add "top area threshold" in develop mode, which could improve top area quality in some cases, thanks @igiannakas

In developer mode, there is a new parameter called "top area threshold." This determines the extent to which the area of the top layer is reduced to decide if the "only one wall on top" setting should be applied. Adjusting this threshold influences the contraction parameter. Increasing it can enhance the model's appearance. For instance, the left sphere shows some top layers with a single loop, leading to an uneven top surface. In contrast, the right sphere, with fewer top layers, presents a more refined shape.

  1. Add the "best object position" parameter to allow users to define the optimal position to put the model.
    The parameter could be modified in the printer settings, and auto-arrange will put the model in the position set. We have set the different best positions for the A1 mini and X1 series.

    When using a multi-material painting tool, there is now an option to enable the interlocking of the painted patches with the neighboring segments. This improves the connection of the patches. This function is picked from PrusaSlicer, thanks to PrusaSlicer.

Quelques améliorations bienvenues quand même ... les profils de filaments personnalisés, les connecteurs, l'Organic Tree ... par contre j'ai du mal à comprendre l'intérêt de l'interlock en multicouleur, à la base cette fonction a surtout été créé pour associer 2 matériaux différents, un souple et un rigide (articulation TPU dans une pièce PLA par ex) ... en multicouleur, on est sur un même matériau donc pas de problème de liaison, et à la limite, la fonction de purge dans le infill fait déjà la même chose, en un peu moins propre c'est tout.

C'est jouable mais j'ai du mal à saisir l'intérêt de combiner ces 2 matières ... sauf peut être éventuellement pour une fonction coulissante puisque ces 2 matières n'adhèrent pas.

Oui mais ça on le fait déjà, pour ça pas besoin de l'interlock, bien au contraire ...  le filament interface, on veut le retirer, pas l'intégrer à demeure dans la pièce.

Le but de l'interlock, c'est de pouvoir intégrer 2 matériaux dans une même pièce ... comme faire une jonction flexible en TPU sur une pièce en PLA par ex.

Tu peux déjà downloader vidéos et stl stockés sur la carte depuis bambu studio (et accéder a tout par ftp y compris pour uploader), il te manque quoi du coup ?

Je l'ai utilisée et je n'avais pas trouvé, désolé. En gros pour y accéder à distance, il faut aller sur l'imprimante pour changer la connexion en perdant au passage un tas de possibilité : autant récupérer la carte et la mettre sur le PC, c'est bien plus simple (mais toujours pas très pratique).

Je n'ai pas trouvé (encore) où je pouvais downloader dans Bambu studio les stl et les vidéos... Mais je cherche.

C'est quand même bien moins pratique que d'ouvrir la panel "Carte SD" de Bambu Studio : ne trouves-tu pas ?

Donc l'évol reste toujours la bienvenue

L e FTP s'utilise n'importe quand, en mode cloud ou en mode LAN (çà devient un mécanisme + pratique que de sortir la carte SD à chaque fois si le cloud est HS ou désactivé). 

Après si tu as envie d'utiliser la carte SD et si tu trouves çà plus simple, libre à toi, mais je pense que 99.9% des utilisateurs Bambu lancent l'impression depuis Bambu Studio (c'est une des forces) sans s'embêter à manipuler les .STL / .GCODE par la carte SD ou par FTP.

Pour downloader, il suffit d'ouvrir Bambu Studio > Device

(les fichiers imprimés depuis le cloud n'apparaissent pas, sauf si tu as activé l'option (sur l'imprimante, ...) pour qu'ils soient stockés en local sur la carte SD. Sinon tu retrouves ceux uploadés par FTP ou manuellement depuis la carte).

1. 3mf Compatibility Enhancement

From this version, Bambu Studio's 3D model file format (.3mf) is compatible with the 3mf reading code provided by the 3MF Consortium; Bambu Studio's 3MF files can also be opened in 3D Viewer.
This Wiki article explains the compatibility between Bambu Studio's 3MF file format and the 3MF Consortium standard, and outline its features and advantages.

2. Support for recording flow ratio calibration results in P1S with P1P Enclosure Kit

When the P1P Enclosure Kit is installed, the flow ratio calibration results will be logged to P1S filament presets. Otherwise, they will be recorded in the P1P filament presets. This feature requires a firmware update to version 01.05.01.00.

3. Automatic calculation of flush volume for Bambu PLA Silk Dual Color

Currently, when syncing Bambu PLA Silk Dual Color from AMS, only the major colors are displayed on the color slot. The automatic flush volume calculation is based on the color with the larger flush volume. However, if the filament color changes, the calculation is based on the major color displayed by the color slot. This behavior will be improved in the future.

4. The P1 series and A1 series printers do not currently support the customization of materials.

Due to ongoing firmware development, there are potential compatibility issues when using custom materials with these printers. To ensure a seamless printing experience, we have temporarily disabled the option to set custom materials. Once the firmware issue is resolved, updating the firmware will grant access to this feature.

Béta de la version 1.9.0 : https://github.com/bambulab/BambuStudio/releases

Pas mal de choses au final, certaines sont pas mal (les seams améliorés apparues dans Orca Slicer, ...), d'autres plus anecdotiques (comme l'intégration MakerWorld - peut être intéressante pour certaines débutants (encore qu'ils pouvaient déclencher des impressions depuis MakerWorld en ligne ...) mais pas sûr que de pouvoir naviguer depuis Bambu Studio ait été le truc le plus urgent à ajouter ...), d'autres à manier visiblement avec précaution (feature expérimentale pour réduire les purges par ex. - mais au risque de générer plus de bouchage de la buse).

3. Improved Scarf Seam

Scarf Seam is a useful technique to hide seams for objects with few corners, where the seam joint is not a single point as the usual seam, but a short slope. Scarf seam was firstly introduced in Orca Slicer by Noisyfox https://github.com/Noisyfox and fellow community contributors for their involvement and discussions, and we deeply appreciate their great contributions. We have imported and further improved Scarf Seam.

  1. Drawing upon community contributions, Bambu Lab strives to refine seam quality for users within established parameters. This approach aims to enable users to achieve enhanced seam outcomes without adjusting line width or reducing print speed. The comparison is shown as follows:

  1. Additionally, Bambu Lab adds the scarf seam overhang detection for conditional joints. When enabled, the scarf seams are not utilized if the overhang exceeds a certain threshold. This addresses the issue where the scarf seam becomes less effective and fails in cases of excessive overhang.

4. Reducing purge through retracting filament

Experimental feature in development mode, currently exclusive to the X and P series and disabled by default. This function prolongs the retraction and cutting distance of the filament during changes, aiming to reduce purging. While it significantly decreases flushing, it may elevate the risk of nozzle clogs or other printing complications. Please use it with caution, thanks to @LeonFisherSkipper.

Previously, the distance between the first layer of supports and objects was determined by the brim gap, a setting that could complicate support removal in some instances. Now, this gap can be adjusted independently, with a default value of 0.2mm that generally performs well on Textured PEI plates. Adjustments may be necessary for other types of plates.

1. Smooth overhang speed

This update enhances the overhang descent speed feature for smoother transitions between speeds, thus improving the appearance of speed-transition defects. This improvement is accessible in Classic mode. his is a major release (V1.9.0 Public Beta 2) that introduces features, improvements, and fixes according to user feedback.

Please note that 3MF files generated by the public beta version of BambuStudio are not compatible for uploading to MakerWorld.

Feature

1. Reducing purge through retracting filament

Optimization has been carried out based on the beta1 feature. A long retraction is performed before the filament is cut, reducing the filament flushing length. This allows for a reduction in flush volume by approximately 2.4*length mm^3.

Now, it's possible to set parameters for individual filaments. These filament-specific parameters will override the parameters of the extruder. If auto-calculaet flush volume when changing filament is enabled, the system will automatically perform the flush calculation when filament is changed. In other cases, please manually trigger automatic flushing.

At present, only the X1 and X1C support this feature on filament parameters, with Bambu PLA Basic and Bambu PETG Basic being default open. Please ensure you're using the latest printer firmware(01.07.03.00). Other printers will gradually get support for this feature. (Note: Currently X1E and P series support this feature on extruder parameters, while the A series do not support this feature.)

Improvement

1. Improved sharp tail support

In version 1.9, BambuSlicer greatly improves the support effect and ease of disassembly of the pointed tail structure, reducing the occurrence of model collapse during printing.

Sharp Tail is a special type of overhang that flies in the air, such as animal tails or human hair. Previously, we supported sharp tails with very tight and dense tree structures, which are difficult to remove. Now we have improved the support structure. Greatly improving the support effect and ease of disassembly of the pointed tail structure. Only a sparse set of contact nodes are added around the sharp tails, and the tree branches are separated far enough so they are easier to remove. Besides, sharp tail overhangs will no longer have support interface layers. For more details, see our wki page.

Test model is hand of superman(https://www.printables.com/model/186499-superman) 3mf file. Compared with PrusaSlicer and OrcaSlicer, BambuStudio can print the model with lower failure possibility while support can be removed easily.

2. Precise z height

If checked, the accurate Z height will be obtained after slicing the model.

For example, We slice a 12.3mm×12.3mm×12.3mm square with a layer height of 0.2mm. The final slicing result will be a multiple of 0.2mm (As shown in the first picture, the height after slicing will be 12.4mm). After checking this parameter, we will adjust the layer height of the last 5 layers so that the height of slicing result will be consistent with the actual height of the object. (As shown in the second picture, the height after slicing is 12.3mm which is consistent with the actual height of the object)

Attention: It will not take effect when the number of object layers is less than 6

- Gestion de fermes d'imprimantes ... (un cas marginal pour beaucoup d'utilisateurs, mais sans doute intéressant pour ceux concernés + p-e un moyen de "lutter" comme l'écran Big Tree Tech qui permet aussi cette fonctionnalité)

- Une gestion de la sécurité par PIN ... pour toutes les imprimantes, sauf les X1C !

- Des .obj avec colorisations intégrées dans le fichier ... si çà pouvait éviter de devoir s'échanger des .m3f, ce serait pas mal en effet (qui embarque bcp trop de choses niveau paramètres pour que ce soit une bonne idée d'utiliser ce format de fichier plutôt destiné aux fonctions "projet")

Feature

1. Support Multi-device Management.

We are excited to announce a new feature in our latest release: Multi-device Management. With this feature, you can now send print jobs to multiple printers simultaneously and monitor the printers' status, print history, and task queuing.

When sending a job, you can also choose filament from either the external spool holder or AMS However, if you select AMS, we currently only support one AMS on each printer.

You can configure the task sending procedures by setting up the batch size and interval, which reduce the risk of overloading your power supply. Heating up the hotbeds is when the printers consume the most power. By controlling the batch size and the interval between batches, you can even out the peak power consumption, therefore reducing the risk of overloading. However, please always check your power supply capability when running multiple printers.

2. Imported .obj File with Color Function

Added color imported from vertex in obj file, and color imported from mtl file function.
You can use software such as Blender or Meshlab to color vertices or patches of the model.

Note:

  1. Please ensure that the imported obj file does not contain non-manifold edges.
  2. After color parsing, the results may not fully correspond with other rendering software. Users can continue to manually adjust the printed colors in BambuStudio.

3. New CrossHatch Infill Pattern

We developed a new infill pattern called CrossHatch. As the name suggests, it primarily fills parts with lines, while periodically altering the direction of the lines through some transition layers. It dramatically improves strength compared to line and concentric infill, while achieving high speed and silent printing in most layers.

When compared to Gyroid infill, it prints 28% quicker in a test cube. When compared to Grid infill, it has a smaller grid size at the same density setting. Based on our tests, we recommend printing it with a slightly lower density setting than you normally would, such as 12%.

3.Optimized PA calibration for P-series and A-series printers

P series and A series printers can support saving calibration results to the printer like X series printers. The calibration results can be edited in Studio's "Manage Result", and the calibrated k value can be set for the AMS slot in device page.
